Who we are

Trade Checka is part of Moved Forward Ltd; we created this site because many of our customers approached us for background checks of potential contractors for projects. The first question we asked ourselves “what type of check is needed to assess a business ability of a Trades Person and contractor who is pricing work is an opportunity to assess tradespeople and contractors as good business people”.

Media

Media can contact Trade Checka via our email address contact@tradechecka.co.nz with questions, and we will reply to their inquiry during regular business hours in New Zealand.

We do not talk about our customer’s personal experiences and stories unless they consent to us sharing their experience on the media and on social media.

Cookies

We do use cookies and tracking to monitor the end-user experience. This is simply to help us develop and improve the website; we also used cookies and monitoring to track our end-users interactions with other websites and other search advertising results.

Embedded content from other websites

We do not add embedded content from another website, we may use free source photos, but this content should not be tracked.

Whom we share your data and information with

Any parties requesting a check need to request information for the genuine reason of awarding work to any party being checked. Reports must not be shared with other parties, including any comments made in public, on social media, or public.

Reports are only submitted to the requesting party, who is our client. 

If a Tradesperson or Contractor wants a copy of the report, we will forward the report on request to the affected party of the check.

Details requested information to conduct checks will be kept for five years.

For any search we conduct, we have to register our request with the party we are requesting information, and they must maintain this request in their registers as well.

By signing up for our newsletter, you will have the option to opt-out at any time. We will contact people who subscribed to our newsletter when we change our newsletter terms and conditions.

After five years of being signed up for our newsletter, we email you to ask you to continue receiving our newsletter. If you don’t reply to this email, we will delete you from our database.

How long do we retain your data?

Forms and reports are kept on file as a record for two years after submission and creation of the report. After two years, we will delete forms and reports; Payment records are kept as per IRD requirements for seven years.

We collect personal information from you, including information about your:

• name
• contact information
• location
• billing or purchase information
• Unique identifiers

• We collect information about contractors for the purposes of a background check

Besides our staff, we share this information with:

• requesting parties to assist in assessing the proposed business relationship.

Providing some information is optional. If you choose not to enter specific details to perform a background check, we’ll only inform the requesting party that you have refused the background check.

We keep your information safe by storing it in encrypted files and only allow authorized employees access to your information. 

We keep your information for two years, at which point we securely destroy it by securely deleting the files.

Where we send your data

You have the right to ask for a copy of any personal information we hold about you and ask for it to be corrected if you think it is wrong.
